CAVENDISH COURT, CAMBRIDGE
The attractions of central Cambridge are hard to ignore. Just a short walk to the west lies the city centre with its overwhelmingly beautiful architecture, the languid River Cam, and an incredible choice of cafés, restaurants, trendy bars and traditional pubs. There is a diverse array of shops and markets lining the narrow lanes, and Grand Arcade offers 450,000ft² of modern shopping heaven!
Cambridge University was founded in 1209 and, with its 31 colleges, the city literally has heritage and tradition running through its veins. As befits its status, the city is wonderfully well served on the cultural front, with museums, galleries, theatres and musical venues, as well as three main cinemas and a good selection of sports and fitness facilities.
Despite the imposing architecture of the compact city centre, Cambridge enjoys a multitude of green open spaces close to the riverside, which can be explored on foot or by bicycle, and many of the college gardens offer beautiful, serene enclosures where you can take time out to relax. Punting on the river itself is a popular pastime enjoyed by residents and visitors alike.
